Lake Washington and Seattle

Today the kiddos wanted to go up to Lake Washington and drive into Seattle.  Since the bleed  I have not driven in Seattle itself, but today was the day and it went smooth.  After we got out of downtown I looked back and shared with Z that this was my first time driving downtown since the bleed.  He was a little taken back but then he was excited!

Isabella loved Kindergarten, loves friends, loves animals, and loves to dance.  She's really good at dancing too!!!!

Z man is happy to be out of school!!!!  He had an interesting year but we made it through it.  Right now he's into birds and weather and yes cars still!!!  He's very bright in math that his is gift.  He recently went on a field trip to Northwest Trek and he loved it!

We have been staying busy doing yard work, working on the house, cleaning out the garage, taking care of kids, and going to a few fun places on the weekends.  My recovery is doing well.  I feel like this year I'm able to think faster and clearer.  I still get headaches and my vision bothers me off and on.  I'm able to go to the gym and now I walk on the treadmill for 45 minutes at a pretty fair speed and incline.  I disliked it at first but it has helped my balance so much!  The gym is my sanctuary it gives me a piece of my old self back.  Puyallup has been good to us!  We have made a lot of new friendships.  There are a ton of people in our ward like over 800.  It's crazy!!!!  Every week we have a new baby or a new move in.  But our ward is so nice!!!  I know several of their children because I do activity days for the girls a large group of 8 to 12 year olds.  The kids like it because there is always another child around.  Our neighborhood is growing and we have a lot of kids and families.  It is a growing area and a nice place to raise kiddos.

Last Day of Kindergarten

Isabella loved Kindergarten!!!!  She cried last Friday because she did not want to leave Mrs. Hill!  I would say that she had a fantastic scholastic experience!!!!

Mother's Day weekend!

Mother's Day weekend 2014! We went to a very pretty park down in Olympia the waterfalls were so pretty!!!! My favorite gift for Mother's Day is spending time with Kirk, Zach, and Isabella!!! Grateful again this year to be alive and spend this day with my family I love them so much!!!

Zachary

 

Yesterday we had Zach's re-eval for his IEP.  As some maybe aware it has been a challenging year with his general ed teacher, but the rest of his team have been wonderful!!!  Yesterday I got a great early Mother's Day gift and that was Zach no longer qualifies for reading!!!  This is huge!!!  As I sat back and listened to the school psy. share her thoughts about Zach I was pleased and knew that the investments that we have made for him to have a bright future were paying off!!!  All of the hard work, tears, worry, appointments, and other challenges were worth it to see this day!!!  Z still has an IEP for social skills and Occupational Therapy, which we are grateful for but to see his progress in reading was a remarkable moment!
