Running with Angels

As some of you are aware I have been excercising at gym and eating healthy. My food selection and proportions have dramatically changed; however, I do not refer to any of this as a diet it is quite simple It attempting to perfect obeying the Word of Wisdom. Since I have been married, I have struggled with my weight and health. As some of you know six months into my marriage I was diagnoised with pseudotumor cerbri, Graves disease, and Factor Leiden Each of these health concerns require me to excercise, watch what I eat, and keep a positive outlook. During the last ten years, this has not all been simple. I have had two difficult pregnancies, five surgeries, and a misscarriage. Each of these caused depression, anxiety, and a feeling of not well being. However, I have had a loving Heavenly Father and a Savior who have watched over me and have cared for me. I have had a husband who has remained with me through thick and thin and has been one of my greatest cheerleaders when it comes to my excercise program and my lifestyle. I have also been blessed with a wonderful internal medicine doctor, who consistently encourages me to continue to live a healthy life style through excercise, diet, and taking medications. I know that these people did not walk into my life by chance. Currently, I'm reading a book titled "Running with Angels" I can truly relate to the author of this book. She has overcome many trials and now understands what led to her weight issues, which is key for everyone. Here are some quotes she has in her book that I now live by

1. "Change takes place one step at a time"

2. "Planning in advance how to handel difficult or tempting situations will only stregthen our resolve."

3. "We need to accept that there will be people who do not approve of us for one reason or another."

4. "Drawing on our life's experiences helps us have more compassion for others."

5. "Finding time for ourselves does not automatically mean that we are neglecting or taking time away from others."

6. "Smaller, incremental steps will lead you steadily toward your ultimate goal."

7. "Embracing love and support from others will help us in whichever life race will run."

8. "Prepare for Success"

Recently I have had several people ask me what I am doing to help me stay healthy, and my answer is this living a healthy lifestyle is very personal, and is different for everyone. I know that it has been a set of mind for me and a lot of work. However, it maybe different for you. One thing I know for sure is I'm choosing to Run with Angels, and it has been a fulfilling experience for me!!!!
